Moody Blues Fan Wants an Answer

Share

As usual, out of a pop/rock mind-set comes yet another Times reviewer with a “they’re-has-beens” rip of a Moody Blues concert (“Out of Foggy Time Warp Appear the Moody Blues,” March 31). This time the cliche-driven slasher was John Penner. He must have been in the john when the “old guys” played prolonged versions of “Story in Your Eyes” and “Legend of a Mind.” These renditions, which included raucous instrumentals, hardly were performed without any “fresh twists.”

Speaking of fresh twists, I would like to see The Times send an open-minded reviewer who enjoys good music--music that makes you think and feel (be it rap, country or whatever) to the Moody Blues concert at the Greek this summer. Who knows? This person might even enjoy the experience, as the audience certainly did at the Bren Center.
