‘MORONIC DRIVEL’
In Richard Eder’s review of “Outerbridge Reach” (March 1), Pat Buchanan’s mindless nationalism is described as having a “libertarian bent.” For the enlightenment of Mr. Eder and your editor, I will quote Webster’s dictionary on libertarian : 1. A person who believes in the doctrine of freedom of the will. 2. A person who advocates full civil liberties.
Does this sound like Buchanan?
Libertarian philosophy includes, obviously, the freedom to immigrate as well as the freedom to import and export products to and from other individuals. This is in sharp contrast to the moronic drivel spouted by Buchanan concerning these issues.
