OTHERS ON BROTHERS
Bereft of their own ideals, Michael and Howard Berman use any politically correct notion to widen their influence among that circle of government types that Ayn Rand referred to as “the aristocracy of pull” (“Mr. Inside & Mr. Outside,” by Alan C. Miller, March 29). Michael Berman’s advice to mayoral wanna-be Zev Yaroslavsky--”Hug every tree, moon every mountain, stop every building”--reveals the bankruptcy of environmentalism and the motives of its advocates.
Rarely do voters have an opportunity to see raw power lust exhibited openly. The Bermans and the many like them are why voters feel hopeless about the future and increasingly do not vote.
