Supplying U.S. Arms to Iraq
President Bush’s Persian Gulf foreign policy is a blight on America and our support of human rights activities around the world. Sell out to any dictator and mass murderer for any short-term goal that may benefit the State Department or White House strategists.
Purposefully hiding from Congress and the American people transfer of arms and money to Iraq and concurrently arms to Iran through third countries is not a bright point in the annals of U.S. foreign policy. How can President Bush defend this position intelligently? To add fuel to the fire of irrationality in the White House is your report of the transfer of arms to Assad’s Syria, the Syria who massacred 20,000 of its own citizens and who still harbors terrorist cells.
The main concern is, where is the outcry from the American people and the rest of the media? Have we, including our presidential candidates, lost all interest in foreign policy debate and criticism? Do we give carte blanche to a clandestine-run executive branch?
America, speak up or forever give up your right to govern by the people and for the people. It is our responsibility to exercise our basic rights.
