Navy Business Conference to Be Held for 4th Year

About 300 business people from throughout the United States have registered for next Tuesday’s 1992 Navy Small Business Procurement Opportunity Conference at the Harbortown Marina Resort Hotel in Ventura.

Representatives of the Defense Department, National Aeronautics and Space Administration and other government agencies will conduct seminars during the all-day conference on such topics as bid and proposal preparation, negotiating, customer relationships and contract performance.

Donald Hathaway, director of the Navy’s Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization program, and Vincent D. Schaper, manager of the Navy’s Small Business Innovative Research Program, will be featured speakers.

In addition to the seminars, more than 50 representatives of federal agencies will offer individual counseling to business people, a Navy spokeswoman said.

Host of the conference, now in its fourth year, is the Naval Construction Battalion Center at Port Hueneme. Co-sponsors are the Naval Air Warfare Center at Point Mugu and the Naval Surface Warfare Center at Port Hueneme. Registration, including lunch and a continental breakfast, is $25.
