McDonnell Investment Deal Due by End of Month, Paper Says: The Taiwan government’s efforts to attract private-sector interest in a proposed investment deal between a local aerospace company and McDonnell Douglas will conclude by the end of this month, a local newspaper reported. The Ministry of Economic Affairs is arranging meetings between officials of Taiwan Aerospace, a government-backed consortium, and about 100 private-sector companies in the hopes of persuading them to participate in the investment, the Chinese-language Economic Daily News quoted a ministry official as saying.
