California Amplifier Reports $627,000 Profit

California Amplifier Inc. in Camarillo, citing an increase in exports, posted net earnings of $627,000 for its fourth quarter ended Feb. 29, compared to a loss of $138,000 a year earlier. Sales in the latest quarter more than doubled to $6.9 million, compared to sales of $2.96 million a year ago.

The latest results lifted the company’s profit for its fiscal year ended Feb. 29 to $1.58 million, compared with a loss of $508,000 a year ago. Sales for its fiscal year were $20.6 million, compared with $11.4 million.

Barry W. Hall, chairman and chief executive officer, said future growth will depend on the company’s ability to sell to foreign markets. California Amplifier designs and manufactures components and systems used in microwave telecommunications, such as home satellite dishes.
