PLATFORM : Staying in L.A.

Now is not the time to give up, even though some people may think so. Businesses that reconstruct and stay in South Los Angeles will be an asset to the neighborhoods affected by the rioting.

New buildings will improve the surroundings for the people who live there, but will not be sufficient to make the needed improvements. The Watts riots affected a local area compared to the widespread damage we’ve seen on the news over the past few days.

What has happened is terrible, but I believe part of the solution is found in people making a difference by working with individuals one-on-one. We also need to work together in the community to support rebuilding efforts.

Let’s take a new look at our city and set an example to make sure this will not happen again in this great city of ours.
