Citing loyalty to his alma mater, Michigan Coach Jon Urbanchek has removed himself from contention for the USC men’s swimming coaching position vacated last month when Peter Daland retired.

Texas women’s Coach Mark Schubert, who interviewed at USC last week, remains one the top candidates, although he said he has not been offered the job. Harvard Coach Mike Chasson and Arizona Coach Frank Busch also are candidates.
