TV News’ Coverage of Riots
Howard Rosenberg complains that the television reporters did not adequately delve into the reasons the disorders were occurring. Those of us familiar with Rosenberg’s fondness for liberal cliche suspect that what he was really yearning for was some incantantory reference to “root causes” or “rage,” the sort of tired phrases that unreflective journalists mistake for analysis.
