SHERMAN OAKS : Yaroslavsky Plans Discussion on Riot
Los Angeles City Councilman Zev Yaroslavsky will speak Wednesday night in Sherman Oaks about the riots in Los Angeles as well as other issues of concern to the community.
“I think what’s on most people’s minds, of course, are the Los Angeles riots,” said Richard H. Close, president of the Sherman Oaks Homeowners Assn., which is sponsoring the meeting. “The most pressing question most people have is why was there anarchy for 36 hours?”
The meeting also will give residents a forum to ask Yaroslavsky about a variety of issues, including the Ventura Boulevard Specific Plan and proposed developments, Close said. It will be held at 8 p.m. at Union Federal Savings, 13300 Ventura Blvd., Sherman Oaks.
