World IN BRIEF : BRITAIN : Major Doesn’t Back Pilots’ Prosecution

Prime Minister John Major said the killing of nine British troops by U.S. pilots during the Gulf War was tragic, but he offered no backing for further action against the pilots. Major spoke to Parliament a day after a coroner’s jury found that the nine were unlawfully killed during the “friendly fire” incident.
