Fullerton’s Nicholson Loses at Wrestling Trials

PHILADELPHIA — Larry Nicholson of Fullerton won his first match at 105.5 pounds with a pin but then was defeated twice by Cory Baze in the best-of-three semifinals Friday at the U.S. Olympic freestyle wrestling trials in Philadelphia.
Baze, of Stillwater, Okla., advanced by coming back with a pin in the second match and then scoring an 11-8 victory in the third.
The winners at the trials advance to final matches June 6 in Pittsburgh against the top-ranked U.S. wrestlers from last year.
