Pasadena : Acting Clerk to Stay in Job

Maria Stewart, who has been acting city clerk for the past four months, has been appointed to the job permanently.

The City Council last week bestowed the $60,500-a-year job on Stewart, as well as accolades from Mayor Rick Cole.

"We have been extraordinarily impressed with her performance in taking over the job four months ago," Cole said.

Stewart has worked for the city since October, 1987, as a legal secretary, supervising legal secretary and assistant city clerk. She replaces Marvell Herren, who resigned Jan. 9.
