Tuesday: Democratic congressional candidates Kevin Sweeney and Anita Perez Ferguson will face off at a pre-primary debate sponsored by the Ventura County Democratic Central Committee. The debate begins at 7 p.m. in the auditorium of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Hall, 3994 E. Main St., Ventura. The event is open to the public. Tuesday: The Environmental Coalition of Ventura County and the Poinsettia Umbrella League will host a forum for candidates competing in the 1st Supervisorial District, including Richard F. Massa, Thomas G. Stafford, Ralph J. Steele and Carroll Dean Williams. Incumbent Supervisor Susan K. Lacey has not confirmed that she will attend. Wednesday: A $25-per-person fund raiser for Supervisor Maggie Erickson Kildee will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Ottavio’s Banquet Hall, 340 Mobil Ave., in Camarillo. For more information, call 482-0664.

Friday: Democratic congressional candidate Anita Perez Ferguson will be honored at a fund raiser and rally from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Livery, 34 N. Palm St., Ventura. The event is sponsored by the Women’s Campaign Fund, the National Women’s Political Caucus, the National Organization for Women and EMILY’s List. The event is open to the public.
