OXNARD : Revised Plan for Senior Housing to Be Discussed

Share

Developers who are planning to build 275 to 300 units of senior housing at F Street and Doris Avenue in Oxnard will present a revised proposal at a neighborhood council meeting Tuesday.

Under the plan that was first presented at a neighborhood meeting Feb. 25, aging buildings at St. John’s Regional Medical Center will be razed to make room for one-, two- and four-storybuildings with one- to three-bedroom units.

The condominiums and townhouses would range in price from $90,000 to $150,000.

The Weissman Group of Northridge will present a revised proposal to the Wilson Neighborhood Council, a citizen organization representing the area in which the hospital is located.

The original plan called for the hospital to retain 25% to 35% of the units as rentals for its own use.

The hospital will be moving to a new facility at Rose Avenue and Gonzales Road in September.

The hospital and developer must obtain approval from the Oxnard City Council before they can start work.

The Wilson Neighborhood Council may submit an advisory report.

The meeting, which will be open to the public, is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Brittell Auditorium at 150 North G St. in Oxnard.
