Kinko’s Joins Xerox in Large-Format Fax Plan

Share

Kinko’s Service Corp. of Ventura has joined with Xerox Engineering Systems to establish a nationwide network for faxing large-format documents.

Kinko’s said it expects a major revenue boost from transmitting documents up to 24 inches wide and 36 inches long for contractors, architects, advertising agencies and others, said Adrianna Foss, Kinko’s vice president of operations.

The network is being created through installation of special Xerox facsimile machines in more than 150 Kinko’s Copy Centers, Foss said. She said Kinko’s worked with Xerox Engineering, a subsidiary of Xerox Corp., in setting up the network. The machines were introduced by Xerox last year.

Kinko’s, whose world headquarters is in Ventura, has 620 copy centers, mainly in the United States and Canada. The centers are owned by privately held partnerships in which the parent company owns an interest.

Foss said Kinko’s launched an international expansion program this year with the opening of two stores in Nagoya, Japan. Another new unit will open late this summer in Amsterdam, she added.
