Toray Industries to Build U.S. Plant to Supply Boeing: Toray Industries Inc., a leading synthetic fiber maker in Japan, announced that it has decided to build a plant in the United States to make a carbon-fiber product for use in airplanes by Boeing Co. “The production in the United States is to supply the material to the Boeing Co. commercial airplane group,” a spokesman at the Japanese firm said. He refused to disclose how much of the material the firm now provides the aircraft maker. The company now supplies the material to Boeing from a plant in Japan.
