BCCI Depositors Want More: A member of the British Parliament arrived in Abu Dhabi with a letter asking the government for more money to settle claims by depositors in the defunct Bank of Credit & Commerce International. Keith Vaz said the letter, on behalf of the BCCI international depositors committee, will be delivered to United Arab Emirates President Sheik Zayed ibn Sultan al Nuhayan. The sheik and his family are the majority shareholders in the global banking empire, which collapsed last year under charges of fraud. The letter thanks the sheik and the government for the $1.7 billion they agreed to pay for a global settlement of the BCCI case but says that is not enough, Vaz said.
