A state legislative panel in Las Vegas agreed to investigate the political battle between backers of UNLV President Robert Maxson and former basketball coach Jerry Tarkanian.
The 12-member Legislative Commission heard nearly four hours of testimony before voting to conduct an independent investigation into the controversy surrounding the departure of Tarkanian, now coach of the San Antonio Spurs.
