Sierra Madre : No Grandview Stop Signs
Stop signs will not be installed on Grandview Avenue at Auburn Avenue, the City Council voted Tuesday.
Several residents had requested the change for the busy intersection, which is used by children attending two nearby schools.
But Police Chief Bill Betts recommended instead that brighter signs be installed on the steep southbound Auburn approach, that some vegetation be removed and that a fence on the southeast corner of the intersection be relocated to improve visibility.
He also recommended an increase in radar enforcement of speed limits on Grandview and suggested a crossing guard at Grandview after school as well the one there now before school.
