IBM Builds World’s Tiniest Transistors: IBM announced that scientists at its Yorktown Heights, N.Y., research facility have built the smallest transistors ever. The experimental devices are 1/75,000th the size of a piece of human hair, IBM said. That size is expected to make it possible for memory chips to contain far more information.
