ANTELOPE VALLEY : Hospital Board Turnover Continues
In the wake of a successful recall election last month, turnover is continuing at Antelope Valley Hospital Medical Center in Lancaster with the appointment of one new member to the facility’s five-member governing board and the resignation of another.
The two board members elected in the recall, Loretta Hansen and Mike Wilson, supported the appointment Wednesday night of one of their supporters, Palmdale businessman Dante Simi, to fill the job vacated May 4 by the resignation of Dr. Harvey Birsner, a recall opponent.
Board member Larry Parker also resigned this week, saying business activities will force him to live outside the area. The board is expected to appoint a member to replace him. Simi’s term, and that of whoever replaces Parker, expire in November.
