Vote Against Pole Signs

The dispute over pole signs in Agoura Hills all comes down to what kind of city you want.

Six times the people of Agoura Hills have gone to the polls and decided. Never has a candidate been elected who campaigned to lessen the community standards for the freeway corridor. I am tired of the slick campaign to convince us that pole signs are less a blight than billboards or even utility poles. They are all ugly and the City Council has taken steps to clean up this blight a little at a time and they deserve our thanks.

When McDonalds, Chevron, Jack in the Box, Shell, Burger King, Denny’s, IHOP, Lumber City, and the others with illegal pole signs comply with the sign ordinance, I will again find use of their services. The city will not lose because I will shop in Agoura Hills but not at their establishments. I intend to vote in favor of cleaning up the freeway corridor with my purchases.
