Democratic Primary

Share

I think it would be a great idea for California to elect two women to the U.S. Senate this November. Of course this means that both Barbara Boxer and Dianne Feinstein win their respective primaries Tuesday. I believe both to be well qualified, as are many of their opponents on the Democratic slate. But sending two women to the Senate from the largest state would send a message to all U.S. voters that people of conscience and fairness are tired of the type of politics that we have witnessed, e.g., in the Clarence Thomas hearings.

For the Senate to be only 2% female is a disgrace; we California voters can double this percentage, and hopefully Illinois and Pennsylvania this November can triple it.
