Largest Gay Political Group Backs Clinton
The nation’s largest gay political organization endorsed Democrat Bill Clinton for President on Tuesday, marking the first time the group has backed a presidential candidate in its 11-year history.
The Human Rights Campaign Fund said of the Arkansas governor: “Gov. Clinton has made it clear that he will fight to end discrimination against lesbian and gay Americans and will push to secure funding for our health care concerns.”
The Human Rights Campaign Fund has a $1-million political action committee, and 37,000 people belong to the fund or are contributors.
