Store’s Hours to Fit City’s Night Image

The first 24-hour 7-Eleven store will open this summer in a southern Chinese city famed for its night life.

News reports said Dairy Farm International Holdings Ltd., a chain that operates 280 7-Elevens in Hong Kong, signed a joint venture pact with two companies to open 15 outlets within 12 months.

The first will be in Shenzhen, which boasts a plethora of bars, discos and sing-along emporiums whose revelers may want to stop by a 7-Eleven in the wee hours for sustenance.

China’s most prosperous city, Shenzhen is at the vanguard of the country’s economic reforms. In 1990, it was the first Chinese city to open a McDonald’s.
