Country artists never used to make Billboard magazine’s pop Top 10. Now they’re a dominant force. Garth Brooks is never out of the Top 10 and Wynonna Judd was just there with her solo debut album. But what really lets you know country is hot is that an unknown like Billy Ray Cyrus can do well enough to have the nation’s best-selling album. His “Some Gave All” is the new No. 1 pop album. Surging rap albums: Sir Mix-a-Lot’s “Mack Daddy” (No. 9) and Das EFX’s “Dead Serious” (No. 18).

* Enya’s “Shepherd Moons” is on the rise again. The biggest New Age album of the year is still selling well after being out half a year. It moved up from No. 38 to No. 27.
