WASHINGTON — Republican presidential challenger Patrick J. Buchanan had a heart valve replaced Friday in a two-hour operation that his sister termed “a complete success.”
Angela (Bay) Buchanan, who is her brother’s campaign manager, said he was expected to be up and walking on Sunday and out of the hospital in 10 to 12 days. She said he will be fully recovered in time for the Republican National Convention in August. Buchanan, 53, had his aortic valve replaced with an artificial valve.
