Beverly Hills Fan Co., a Woodland Hills-based maker of ceiling fans, said its fiscal second-quarter profit more than doubled from a year earlier, to $140,000 from $63,000 a year earlier.
The higher profit in the quarter that ended April 30 came on a doubling of the company’s revenue, to $2.91 million from $1.41 million. Beverly Hills Fan attributed the gains partly to a 56% increase in its sales to the Home Depot chain of home-improvement stores.
For the first half of its fiscal year, Beverly Hills Fan’s net income rose 67%, to $303,000 from $181,000 a year earlier, and its six-month revenue climbed 73%, to $4.81 million from $2.78 million.
