CANOGA PARK : Auto Dealership Charged With False Advertising

Share

The Los Angeles city attorney’s office has filed two charges accusing a Canoga Park auto dealership World Nissan of refusing to sell cars for the advertised price.

The charges, filed last week, were added to an earlier complaint accusing World Nissan at 21535 Roscoe Blvd. of deceptive sales practices, City Atty. James Hahn said in a statement.

On Feb. 18, Hahn’s office accused World Nissan and two employees of using bait-and-switch tactics to sell cars there. The defendants pleaded not guilty in March and a trial is set for this month. The new charges accuse the dealership of advertising a 1992 Sentra for $6,572 in a local newspaper but refusing to sell it to a Whittier man unless he also bought air-conditioning for an additional $1,200 or financed the deal through World Nissan, Hahn said.
