On Lookout for Lunkers at Mammoth
The second annual Mammoth Lakes Trout Derby is Sunday. It’s a blind bogey competition, meaning any size catch can win. Prizes include money, fishing tackle and gift certificates.
There is no entry fee or pre-registration, but entries--only one per angler--must be checked in at a weigh station by 3 p.m.
Fish must be caught at one of the lakes in the Lakes Basin area, or at nearby Crowley or Convict Lakes or Mammoth Creek. Tip: Convict has been producing a series of big catches recently.
