Alhambra : Developer Told to Do Study

An overflow crowd with signs, banners and message T-shirts persuaded the City Council on Monday to require a full environmental impact report of a developer who wants to build a 20-unit condominium project on five lots near Huntington Drive.

At the suggestion of Mayor Talmage Burke, the council also instructed city staff to develop a plan to downzone the high-density residential area to medium or low density.

Before voting unanimously to require the environmental report, council members echoed concerns of residents that the project, between Dos Robles Place and Electric Avenue, would be incompatible with the neighborhood and would make the traffic worse on Dos Robles.
