Creative Math Teacher Honored for His Efforts

Rick Spadaccini, a teacher at Sierra Vista High School in Baldwin Park, is one of 10 instructors in the county to win the Jaime Escalante Mathematics Award, given to math teachers who use creative teaching techniques to motivate students.
Spadaccini, a teacher for 10 years, has taught math for the past three years at Sierra Vista and will receive $1,000 in the program sponsored by the Los Angeles Educational Partnership.
