Irving Middle School Teachers Honored

Several faculty members at Washington Irving Middle School in Glassell Park received honors recently.
* Thelma Yoshii has been named Outstanding Principal of the Year by the National Assn. of Secondary School Principals.
* Judy Potthast, head of the English department, was named Outstanding Reading/Language Arts Teacher for 1992 by the Los Angeles Reading Assn.
* Science teacher Tien Huynh has been accepted into the Explorer Summer Institute and was selected as a Partner in Science and Industry by the Los Angeles Educational Partnership.
* Math teacher Neville Brown was named Outstanding Junior Math-Engineering-Science Achievement Adviser of the Year by the MESA program at Cal State Los Angeles.
