GIMME SHELTER: And you thought only aging curs, fleabags and cast-asides could be found at the pound. In fact, the Orange County Animal Shelter in Orange can be a treasure trove of beauteous creatures. Says assistant director Judy Maitlen: “We get lots of really young, healthy, beautiful animals with shiny coats, bright eyes and wonderful personalities.” These alley cats can even be prizewinners: Non-pedigreeds have their own category at this weekend’s annual International Cat Show at the Anaheim Convention Center.
