INGLEWOOD : Man Suspected of Fatally Beating Infant Daughter

A Los Angeles man was arrested this week for the apparent beating death of his 2-month-old daughter, who died at an Inglewood hospital after her parents took her there for treatment.

Merrell Lamont Taylor, 24, was booked for murder at the Los Angeles Police Department’s Parker Center Jail, said Lt. Al Moen of the LAPD’s Juvenile Division. Keiona Taylor was brought to Centinela Hospital Medical Center early Monday morning after she “became lethargic,” Moen said.

“The hospital exam revealed the victim had suffered a severe skull fracture, in addition to having evidence of broken ribs,” Moen said. “The parents were questioned regarding the injuries, and additional questioning resulted in the arrest of the father.”
