Clark to Sign With Orioles; Reports Sunday
First baseman Howie Clark of Huntington Beach High School said he will sign a professional baseball contract with the Baltimore Orioles today.
Clark, who batted .444 in leading Huntington Beach to the Sunset League title, will report to the Orioles’ Rookie League team at Sarasota, Fla.
“I have to be there by 5 p.m. Sunday, so I’ll be flying to Orlando tomorrow right after I sign the contract,” Clark said. “It’s always been a dream to play professional baseball.
Clark was drafted in the 27th round by the Orioles.
