Walnut : Parking Ban on Valley Blvd.
Parking may be prohibited along the north side of Valley Boulevard between Lemon Creek Drive and Camino de Gloria under a measure given preliminary approval by the City Council last week.
The council voted 5 to 0 to restrict parking along the half-mile stretch for a trial period of at least four months.
The city’s traffic and safety committee recommended the ban after several business owners complained that parked vehicles obstruct the view of drivers leaving their parking lots, making it hazardous for them to merge into traffic on the busy 50-m.p.h. road.
A final vote is scheduled at the council’s June 24 meeting.
