This Meeting Is a Work of Art

Your life is hectic. You run from meeting to meeting, referring to your organizer like a Bible. At home, there’s laundry, cooking, the kids. So why take time from your busy schedule to go to another meeting?
Because the last meeting on the Glendale Art Assn.’s 1991-1992 schedule should be fun and relaxing. It’s tonight at Glenoaks Park. (Note: no dull conference room.) Thirty-one students from junior and senior high schools in Glendale will be honored by the association for their artwork, and they’re being encouraged to bring it so you can look at it, in case you missed the exhibit at the Glendale Galleria.
There will be a watercolor demonstration by Maren Sampson, a member of the Beverly Hills Art League and watercolor teacher at Santa Monica City College. Watercolors can be so relaxing. Finally, it’s a potluck dinner, and Terry Ferguson, publicity officer for the association, says that unless you’re a member, you don’t need to bring anything unless you want to.
The meeting is open to the public, and it’s free. And you won’t be expected to work along with Sampson. You can get a lot out of the presentation just by watching and listening.
“Maren is good at saying why she’s doing something and what she’s doing,” said Ferguson.
If you want to cook something for the potluck, call Ferguson at (213) 665-1811, or just bring it. Dinner starts at 6, with awards at 7 and the demonstration at 8 p.m. Glenoaks Park is at Glenoaks Boulevard and Arcade Place.
