Spin Cycle on Arsenio’s Comments About Bush

In Steve Weinstein’s article, “Arsenio Hall Vs. George Bush: Another Round” (June 13), I have learned the true meaning of the term vertigo . One more spin on this story and I would have needed crutches to maintain an upright position.

Weinstein states that the station airing the show, KCOP-TV Channel 13, received a “flurry of calls” that later on in the article is defined as about 25, most of which were critical. This is followed by information that Hall’s show is viewed by an estimated 3.1 million households. And Weinstein says that a show spokesman reported producing-studio Paramount as receiving 30 to 40 calls, half supporting Hall’s comments.

No matter how the numbers on calls regarding the program are arranged, figuring 100 calls (opposed to the comments) against a possible 3.1 million households would come to .0000322% critical of Hall. Does this constitute a “flurry”?
