* 1/2 Das Efx, “Dead Serious,” EastWest. A big hit, but why? It’s mostly nonsensical chatter--some of it raunchy, much in Pig Latin and too much of it boneheaded boasting--spewed out at super speed by this rookie duo. None of the low-tech beats, mirroring the rough sound of rap’s early days, are grabbers, and the gay-bashing on “Mic Checka” is reprehensible.
