Jockey Sidney Underwood remained in critical condition, partially paralyzed with a broken back after her mount stumbled and fell at Atlantic City Race Course.
Underwood, 29, of Huntsville, Ala., was riding Doug O. Knows on Friday when the horse attempted to change leads. The horse’s legs became tangled, leading to a spill that sent Underwood flying.
The horse and other riders were unhurt.
