IN BRIEF : L.A.’s AIDS Hotline Adds Thai Language

The Thai language has been added to the Southern California toll-free AIDS Hotline, operated by AIDS Project Los Angeles. The service is also able to provide AIDS information and referrals in Mandarin, Cantonese, Japanese, Tongan, Tagalog, Vietnamese, Farsi and Korean.

The hot line number is (800) 922-2438. Callers can hear up to three prerecorded messages in the language of their choice: “What is AIDS?” “How is AIDS Transmitted?” and “AIDS Antibody Testing.”

Each message refers callers to agencies and information sources within their community.

The Southern California AIDS Hotline provides information, counseling and referrals on AIDS-related issues. The toll-free numbers are (800) 922-AIDS (English), (800) 222-SIDA (Spanish), (800) 553-AIDS (TDD) and (800) 922-2438 (multi-language communicator).
