COUNTYWIDE : Attorney Allred Will Speak to Graduates
Feminist attorney Gloria Allred will address the graduating class of the University of Phoenix’s Southern California campus in Fountain Valley at graduation exercises Saturday.
The outspoken Allred, who has taken on employment discrimination and women’s issues in her law practice, was chosen to speak because of her work in the area of equal rights, said Anthony Digiovanni, vice president and regional director.
“We are honored to have her as our 1992 commencement speaker,” he said.
The school, established in 1976, caters to working adults.
It has campuses in five states and Puerto Rico and a total enrollment of nearly 14,000 students, officials said.
The school offers six undergraduate and graduate degree programs in business, management and nursing and has seminar and certificated programs for industry through its Center for Professional Education.
The university will confer diplomas to 500 undergraduate and graduate students in business and nursing at the Anaheim Convention Center.
