Truck Strikes, Kills Santa Ana Resident
SANTA ANA —
A 21-year-old man was killed Friday night when he dashed out onto a crosswalk and was sideswiped by an oncoming truck, police said.
The accident occurred at 11:30 p.m. in the 1000 block of South Bristol Street. Police said Elias Pizano Mata of Santa Ana did not have the right of way when he ran across the street.
A truck heading north on McFadden Avenue “could not stop in time,” Lt. Bob Chavez said. The driver was not cited, he added.
