Ross Perot’s Campaign
From what I’ve learned of Perot, he’s walked away from every commitment he ever made in his life. He tried to walk away from the Navy. He walked away from IBM. He walked away from General Motors. Perot’s motto seems to be “my way, or the highway!”
President Perot will discover that he can’t order Congress around. President Perot will discover that he is unable to control the bureaucracy. President Perot will discover that the American people will not give him unquestioning support. In other words, President Perot will discover, to his shock and chagrin, that the United States is a republic, not a dictatorship.
And, if the past is any guide to the future, President Perot will walk away.
