Copyright Change: President Bush has signed into law the Copyright Renewal Act of 1992, which will prevent songs first copyrighted between 1964 and 1977 from falling into the public domain if a renewal form is not filed by the author or publisher at the end of the first term of copyright (28 years). If not specifically renewed by the owner, the copyright will still renew automatically for an additional 47 years.
