A $1-million donation to an Asian-American and a minority service group will support job placement and community outreach programs to communities affected by the Los Angeles riots.

The Los Angeles Urban League and the Korean American Coalition will share equally in the grant from the New York Life Foundation.

The grant to the Urban League will support a summer job program for African-American and Latino youths, the creation of a community job bank for those who lost their jobs during the riots, and a training and business development center to assist those setting up or managing their own businesses.
