PRINT IT: Board of Supervisors Chairman Roger R. Stanton plans to take the first step today toward a controversial idea he’s been pitching for months: fingerprinting local welfare recipients. He hopes it will help cut down on fraud by people double-dipping through the use of aliases. . . . Stanton is expected to direct county staff to begin a 90-day study of the costs and feasibility of the idea, already implemented in Los Angeles County. . . . “Honest applicants (have) nothing to hide,” he says.
